The women's national team go into the pool stage in New Zealand already qualified for the World Cup. Chile are chasing a title that could be historic for Chilean sport.
Las Diablas are taking part in the FIH Nations Cup Auckland 2026, a major tournament that hands the champions a place in the FIH Pro League, the leading international circuit, in which Chile have never competed.
Ranked 11th in the world, the side coached by Cristóbal Rodríguez arrived in New Zealand looking to build on their recent progress and establish themselves among the game’s emerging powers. The tournament is also key preparation for the 2026 World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands.
The format
The top two teams in each pool go through to the semi-finals: the Pool A winners face the Pool B runners-up, and vice versa. The third- and fourth-placed sides in each pool meet in the classification matches. The semi-finals are played on Saturday 20 June; the final and the bronze-medal match on Sunday 21.
